New standards-based video collections for grades K–12

MIM is excited to launch three new standards-based video collections designed to support students and educators as part of our virtual education programs. Innovative virtual field trip and artist residency videos create a dynamic learning experience for students with age-appropriate concepts and fun ways to create, move, or make music.

MIM’s Fall 2020 offerings include virtual versions of the popular Musical Menagerie early childhood field trip, as well as the Discovery field trip—both featuring tour stops and activities related to MIM’s Geographic Galleries. The virtual Artist Residency Program for grades K–12 showcases the Kawambe-Omowale African Drum and Dance Theatre in a lively educational concert. Participants take a tour of West Africa, learning about musical instruments, dances, clothing, and folklore. Students may also attend a live Q&A session with the artists via Zoom on selected dates.
