Vienna Teng delights audiences by combining beautiful piano playing, soaring vocals, and loop boxes. Since her debut in 2002, Vienna Teng has built a devoted following across generations and continents.

[Teng] calls herself a ‘songscapes performer’ and will bring her ‘toys’ that include keyboards, a drum pad, looper for voice effects, voice synthesizer and a rare chance for an audience to hear a whale song kazoo.

Vienna Teng’s adventurous chamber-folk songwriting has drawn critical acclaim and praise from the likes of NPR and David Byrne and garnered her a loyal following across North America, Europe, and beyond. Teng was influenced as much by Beethoven, Mozart, and Dvořák as by Paul Simon and Fiona Apple, but her sound escapes easy comparison. Teng’s musical style incorporates folk, pop, classical piano, and a cappella vocals. Using piano as her primary instrument, she writes lyrics inflected with emotion, narrative, and personal history. Currently, she also organizes music fans to take positive action on climate, in collaboration with groups like Climate Changemakers and Music Declares Emergency.
