The Phoenix Boys Choir’s holiday concert Transcendent Winter transports audiences to a world of cultural diversity and contemporary reinterpretations of beloved holiday classics. The program showcases expertly crafted music featuring a chamber orchestra, solo artists, and audience members in harmony with the choir. The concert is highlighted by the world premiere of Arizona composer Michael Bryson’s “Mwanga Mkali Aita (The Bright Light Calls),” an exciting and energetic piece that won second prize in the Phoenix Boys Choir’s 2023 New Works Rising Choral Composition Competition.
