George Kahumoku Jr.:
The vocals and slack-key wizardry of George Kahumoku . . . is as cleansing as a Sunday drive through God’s country.

Master slack-key guitarist George Kahumoku Jr., Hawaii’s renaissance man, is a multiple Grammy and Nā Hōkū Hanohano award winner. He is also a vocalist, storyteller, songwriter, author, world-traveling performer, and teacher—he founded the Institute of Hawaiian Music at University of Hawaii Maui College. He produces and stars in the long-running weekly Slack Key Show, which features the best Hawaiian slack-key guitarists and other leading musicians.
Guitar virtuoso Jeff Peterson is one of the most versatile musicians in Hawaiian music. Specializing in slack-key, classical, and jazz guitar, Peterson has contributed to two Grammy-winning recordings and has been honored with 11 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards. Five of his songs appear in the George Clooney film The Descendants.
Slack-key and lap steel guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and producer Sonny Lim developed his style performing with the famous Lim Family of the Big Island, esteemed Hawaiian cultural practitioners and descendants of Hawaii Island royalty. He was also one of the early members of the renowned Mākaha Sons of Ni‘ihau. Lim performed on the recording that won the first Grammy for Best Hawaiian Music Album, and he has won multiple Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards for his solo albums.
