Henry Kapono’s Summertime Tour is a night of musical magic, powerful storytelling, and the spirit of aloha. It features new music from the Grammy-nominated and award-winning Hawaiian singer-songwriter’s Summertime EP, plus appearances by special guests Lee Oskar and Kealoha and Kapono’s backing three-piece the Boys in the Band.
Native Hawaiian Henry Kapono is known for his soulful voice and captivating performances. Rising to fame in the 1970s as one half of the iconic duo Cecilio and Kapono, Kapono remains a leading figure in Hawaii’s music scene. His original songs celebrate his love for his family, express his pride in his Hawaiian culture, and share his joy of his home in the Hawaiian Islands.
Internationally acclaimed harmonica virtuoso Lee Oskar has earned critical and popular acclaim across his long career for his wide-ranging portfolio of unforgettable compositions evoking different moods, rhythms, and genres. He has earned ASCAP writing awards and had his signature sound celebrated in the hit Pitbull and Kesha single “Timber,” which was inspired by Oskar’s harmonica playing in the song “San Francisco Bay.”
Hawaii’s first official Poet Laureate, Kealoha is an internationally acclaimed poet and storyteller who has performed at the White House and ʻIolani Palace, and internationally in Brazil, Switzerland, and more. Kealoha was selected as a master artist for a National Endowment for the Arts program in 2010 and was named a laureate fellow by the American Academy of Poets in 2022. He has been featured on HBO’s Brave New Voices, NBC, PBS, NPR, and more.
