Experience the dynamic talents of Arizona-based flutists during Flute Fridays, a series of pop-up performances at MIM on select Friday afternoons from January through April. Explore the history and enduring impact of the flute even further with a visit to MIM’s breathtaking special exhibition The Magical Flute: Beauty, Enchantment, and Power.
Flute Fridays performances take place in central El Río. Seating is limited; first come, first served. All performances begin at 2:15 p.m. and last around 30 minutes. Programming is subject to change.

About the Artist
Michelle Stolper is the principal flute of the West Valley Symphony, where she also serves as director of education and community engagement. Stolper has performed frequently with the Phoenix Symphony and has worked with many other orchestras in Arizona, including the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Arizona Opera, Prescott Pops Symphony, and Symphony of the Southwest. As a soloist, Stolper has presented recitals around the Valley, helping to raise money for nonprofit organizations such as the American Cancer Society and the Ocean Conservancy. In 2023, she performed the National Flute Association premiere of Craig Bohmler’s Sonata Célèbre.
Stolper is a prominent flute teacher in the North Phoenix area and enjoys teaching private lessons in her award-winning flute studio in Anthem. She holds a master of music degree in flute performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and bachelors degrees in music education and flute performance from Northern Arizona University.
