Trailblazer Teacher-Guided Tour

Grades K–12 (Ages 5–18)

Curricular Areas: Social Studies, English Language Arts, Science, Music, Geography

Design the perfect day for curious students. Using a gallery map made especially for field trips, teachers and group leaders facilitate a fun, safe exploration of the galleries as they guide students and chaperones through the museum and encourage self-directed learning.

Schedule & Pricing

Schedule

Tours are offered seven days a week. Suggested field trip times are 9:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m., but start times and tour lengths can be tailored to fit your group’s needs.

Admission

$8 per student

To apply for free or reduced student admission, click here. Free student admission is based on availability.

Chaperones

MIM requires that schools provide one chaperone for every five elementary students and one for every 10 middle and high school students and will admit those chaperones at no additional cost. Admission for each additional chaperone is $8.

Reservations

Reservations are required for all school groups visiting MIM. Make your reservation by submitting the Field Trip Request Form at least 15 days in advance. Once your tour is booked, secure your $75 deposit (payable by purchase order number, check, or credit card) within 10 business days to hold your reservation. MIM will then email your reservation confirmation and pre-visit materials. If you have questions, please contact the School and Group Tour Coordinator at 480.245.6919 or grouptours@MIM.org.

MIM meets all Americans with Disabilities Act requirements for accessibility. Please notify the Education Team before your tour if you have any special needs requests.

Educator Resources

Group leaders are encouraged to design and lead their own fun activities in the galleries. Below are two suggestions: gallery bingo and a framing activity. Both support Arizona’s K–12 academic standards in English language arts and social studies.

To meet with a MIM educator to refine and customize your teacher-guided field trip, email education@MIM.org or request a meeting in the notes section of your Field Trip Request Form.
