For more than 50 years, the Fabulous Thunderbirds have delivered a powerful hybrid of blues, rock and roll, and R&B in hit songs such as “Tuff Enuff” and “Wrap It Up.” Singer and harmonica virtuoso Kim Wilson, the band’s cofounder and sole remaining original member, leads the group as it returns to its musical roots, celebrating Chicago blues. Wilson played alongside the architects of the Chicago blues sound during the genre’s golden era, learning from legends such as Johnny Shines, Muddy Waters, George “Harmonica” Smith, and Jimmy Reed. The Fabulous Thunderbirds’ Tribute to Chicago Blues tour brings a deep blues catalog and the band’s biggest hits together in a single evening, featuring traditional Chicago blues cuts Wilson has played for decades and Thunderbirds standards that introduced millions to blues rock.
