Sullivan Fortner Trio

Concert Details

The Sullivan Fortner Trio is a jazz group led by Grammy Award-winning pianist Sullivan Fortner. The current lineup, formed in 2021, features Fortner on piano, Tyrone Allen on bass, and Kayvon Gordon on drums. The trio has gained significant recognition, including winning the 2024 DownBeat magazine Critics Poll for Rising Star Jazz Group, and they have performed at major venues including the Newport Jazz Festival and the Village Vanguard.

Fortner was raised in New Orleans, and his roots are deeply felt in his music, evoking the spirit of the city’s blues and jazz greats that came before him. Fortner has performed with musical giants such as Wynton Marsalis, Dianne Reeves, and Roy Hargrove. His acclaimed partnerships with Grammy winner Cécile McLorin Salvant further cemented his status as one of today’s most prolific and masterful voices in jazz.
