Celebrating the life and legacy of the country music star

The Artist Gallery’s newest display honors Glen Campbell (1936–2017), who was one of the most successful musicians to bridge the gap between country and pop music during his six-decade career.

Campbell’s personal instruments and wardrobe are featured, including a 1968 prototype of his signature model Ovation acoustic guitar played on The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour, another guitar used extensively during his Farewell Tour (pictured above), and Highland bagpipes he played in concert, reflecting his Scottish ancestry.

“Glen always thought of himself as a guitar player first and foremost; to have an exhibit at the MIM would have meant the world to him,” says Kim Campbell, Glen’s wife of thirty-four years.
