Event Details
Move around and make music during this interactive taiko workshop at MIM! Guests of all ages and abilities are welcome to learn about traditional Japanese taiko drumming and play together with instructors from Rhythmic Flow Taiko. Then complete the experience with a gallery getaway tour to related exhibits in the Geographic Galleries.
The instructors are Vivian Lee, a physical therapist and taiko player based in Los Angeles; Galen Rogers, a dancer and credentialed taiko teacher based in the San Francisco Bay area; and Mayna Tyrrell, a taiko player and doctoral candidate in ethnomusicology researching disability and accessibility in taiko.
