Experience the dynamic talents of Arizona-based flutists during Flute Fridays, a series of pop-up performances at MIM on select Friday afternoons from January through April. Explore the history and enduring impact of the flute even further with a visit to MIM’s breathtaking special exhibition The Magical Flute: Beauty, Enchantment, and Power.
Flute Fridays performances take place in central El Río. Seating is limited; first come, first served. All performances begin at 2:15 p.m. and last around 30 minutes. Programming is subject to change.

About the Artists
Jeannette Hirasawa Moore is principal flute of the Sedona Symphony, Flagstaff Symphony, and Arizona Philharmonic and is a founding member of the Ponderosa Players and Duo Catalina. Her previous positions include principal flute of the Toronto Pops Orchestra, Toronto Operetta Theatre, and Royal Winnipeg Ballet. She has also performed with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Hamilton Philharmonic, and Toronto Philharmonic. As a soloist, Moore has appeared with the Flagstaff Symphony, Sedona Symphony, Toronto Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic, Ensemble Sir Ernest MacMillan, and Hart House Orchestra. Moore’s career includes engagements with several musicals and touring companies, including a tour of Singapore and Hong Kong with The Phantom of the Opera. Moore received her bachelor of music and master of music degrees in performance from the University of Toronto as a student of Douglas Stewart.
Yamaha artist Andrea Redcay Graves has performed throughout the United States, Central America, and the United Kingdom. She currently performs on flute, piccolo, and alto flute with the Sedona Symphony, Flagstaff Symphony, Arizona Philharmonic, Duo Catalina, and the Flagstaff Chamber Music Series. Her past performances include appearances with the Fort Worth Symphony, Dallas Chamber Orchestra, Peoria Symphony Orchestra, and Dubuque Symphony Orchestra and at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Graves has presented recitals and master classes for the National Flute Association and Festival Internacional de Flauta de Costa Rica and at universities across the country. She holds degrees from Texas Tech University, the Juilliard School, and the University of North Texas.
