Concert Details

Eric Ramsey has been active in the Arizona music scene since the mid-1970s, performing solo and in many bands. Using soaring vocals and organic arrangements, Ramsey writes from experience about the human condition—at times sensitive, at times humorous, and always thought-provoking. His arrangements and delivery encompass a spectrum of styles, from delicate fingerpicking to raucous, bluesy bottleneck slide.

Hans Olson has been a fixture on the Arizona music scene for more than 50 years. He fronted many bands in the 1960s and ’70s but now performs as a solo act. He has released more than 17 albums and toured extensively in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Though he is a prolific songwriter and proficient in many styles of music, Olson is mostly known as a blues musician. He plays an amplified acoustic guitar and a harmonica in a neck rack and is considered one of the best “harp in a rack” players in the world.

Chuck Hall has won the hearts and accolades of fans and critics throughout his electrifying blues career. His Arizona journey began in 1984, when he joined Texas Red and the Hartbreakers. He made his name in the Valley blues scene with the legendary powerhouse trio Chuck Hall and the Brick Wall, and he currently performs with the Chuck Hall Band. He spent a year on the road with Robert Cray and has opened for B. B. King, Johnny Winter, Gregg Allman, Charlie Musselwhite, Los Lobos, and many more. In 2014, PBS and the Tempe Center for the Arts highlighted Hall’s career in a televised Songwriters Showcase.

Eric Ramsey:
“Incendiary resonator work, flawless delivery, and tunes that beg you to immerse yourself in the music. More than just the blues.”

Phoenix Blues Society

Hans Olson:
“Olson managed a delicate blend of the grim boogie blues of John Lee Hooker, the wistful introspection of Bob Seger, and the raw urgency of early Bob Dylan.”

San Francisco Chronicle

Chuck Hall:
“It is fortunate for Phoenix blues fans that Hall continues to play music regularly around the Southwest.”
