ZZ Ward is an accomplished American singer, songwriter, and musician known for her soulful blend of blues, rock, and hip hop. Born in Pennsylvania and raised in Roseburg, Oregon, Ward developed a passion for music at a young age, inspired by her father, a guitarist. Ward’s unique musical style combines classic blues with modern sounds, creating a fresh and captivating sound that has garnered her a dedicated fan base.When the Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist began to write new music, she found herself in one of the biggest life changes a person will ever experience: motherhood. The resulting music is her truest and most blues-infused to date. Ward’s smolderingly soulful single, “Mother,” was released in the fall of 2024, and her latest full-length, Liberation, was released in 2025. These releases are Ward’s first for Sun Records and commemorate an exciting era for her as she returns to her blues roots.
