Volunteer Team Member Aspen Beaudoin

Aspen Beaudoin has always loved music and the way it helps her connect with people. Visits to MIM with her family as a child helped her appreciate how music unites people from around the world. When she learned she could join MIM’s volunteer team as a high schooler, she chose to connect with other music lovers at the Guest Service desk.

“I really like talking to people and I consider myself extroverted, so that’s why I picked Guest Service,” Aspen says. “I get to talk to so many different people from different parts of the world or who have gone to different universities that I’m looking into, and I get to talk to them about their experiences.”

Aspen wants to study architecture or business in college, and MIM appeals to both interests. She is fascinated by MIM’s architecture, which incorporates subtle musical references. Volunteering at Guest Service also gives her an up-close view of how team members engage with guests and make every visit special.

Aspen enjoys playing the guitar and ukulele, but she assures future student VTMs that musical skill isn’t a requirement to join the team.

“You don’t have to play an instrument,” she says. “If you like music, you’ll find something to resonate with.”

Music enhances every aspect of Aspen’s life, and MIM helps her share that connection with music lovers from around the globe.

“You get to see so many cool people with different experiences from all over the world,” she says. “It’s great to talk to them.”
