Frequently Asked Questions
Are concert tickets refundable or exchangeable?
No. MIM does not offer refunds or exchanges. All sales are final. If you are unable to attend a concert, you can donate your tickets by submitting this form. Donations must be made before the start of the performance.
Can I bring a bag or backpack?
Bags smaller than 18 by 18 inches are allowed in the theater and do not need to be clear. Backpacks are not allowed.
Can I bring food or drink into the theater?
No outside food or drink is allowed in the MIM Music Theater.
Can I purchase tickets through a third-party merchant?
No. MIM does not sell tickets through any third-party ticket merchants. Tickets purchased through unauthorized ticket merchants may be priced significantly above face value, counterfeit, stolen, or otherwise in violation of MIM’s policies. We encourage all guests to purchase tickets directly from MIM.org, in person at MIM, or by phone at 480.478.6000. MIM is not responsible for any tickets purchased from unauthorized ticket merchants and MIM cannot assist with inquiries regarding any such unauthorized ticket purchases.
Can I take photos or video during the concert?
Photography and audio or video recording in the theater are prohibited unless guests are notified otherwise.
Can I use my cell phone during the concert?
We ask that you silence your cell phones and do not use them during the performance, out of courtesy to the other guests. Texting or web browsing are also prohibited.
Can I visit the museum before the concert?
Museum galleries are open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Museum admission is not included with a concert ticket.
Do you have assistive listening devices?
Yes. MIM offers assistive listening devices for concerts upon request. Please request one from an usher when you arrive. For additional accessibility questions or requests, please contact ADA@MIM.org.
Does MIM offer any presale purchase opportunities?
Yes! Our membership program comes with great benefits, including exclusive presale purchase opportunities at the $250 level and above.
How do I buy concert tickets?
We strongly recommend purchasing concert tickets ahead of time, as many shows sell out. You can buy tickets online or over the phone by contacting MIM’s Guest Service team at 480.478.6000.
How long will the concert be?
Concerts are typically 75 to 90 minutes long. Specific runtimes are available within a few days of the performance. Contact MIM’s Guest Service team at guestservice@MIM.org or 480.478.6000 for more information.

Is Café Allegro open? Are there any food or beverage options?
No. Café Allegro closes at 3 p.m. every day. There is a concert bar open one hour before all evening concerts, and it serves wine, beer, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and snacks for guests to enjoy before a performance. Food or beverages are not allowed in the theater.
Is there a dress code for concerts?
There is no dress code for concerts. The theater is air conditioned and can run cold, so we encourage guests to bring a light sweater or jacket.
Is there accessible and companion seating?
Yes, row D and the rear box include accessible and companion seating options and do not require the use of stairs. All other seats require the use of stairs. The MIM Music Theater has a limited number of accessible and companion seats throughout the venue, and they are available on a first-come, first-served basis when purchasing tickets.
What happens if I arrive late to a concert?
Late seating at theater performances will take place at the discretion of the house manager.
When do doors open to the theater?
Doors to the MIM Music Theater open 30 minutes before a performance.
When should I arrive for a concert at the MIM Music Theater?
We recommend that you arrive at least 15 to 30 minutes before the performance to allow time to park, find your seats, pick up tickets at will call, etc. The bar is open one hour before all evening concerts for guests to enjoy wine, beer, cocktails, nonalcoholic beverages, and snacks. Food or beverages are not allowed in the theater.

Where do I park for concerts?
The parking lot entrance is on Mayo Boulevard, just south of Loop 101. Parking is free. No overnight parking or camping is allowed.
Will the Museum Store be open?
The Museum Store is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening hours vary. Please contact MIM’s Guest Service team at guestservice@mim.org or 480.478.6000 for more information.
