Lifelong instrument lover adds his name to the Guitar Gallery

Of all the instruments Randy Vosti loves, he loves the guitar the most. He loves the instrument so much that when the opportunity arose to make a donation to become the named sponsor of MIM’s Guitar Gallery, he jumped at the chance.
Randy first visited MIM in July 2024, attending a concert by Haley Reinhart, one of his favorite singer-songwriters, at the MIM Music Theater. He joined MIM as a member of the Director’s Circle six months later, and he quickly started searching for the perfect way to deepen his commitment to the museum and its mission. In February, he found it: he made a gift to MIM to name the exhibit space that spoke to his greatest passion.
“I saw the Guitar Gallery,” he says, “and I said ‘Wow!’”
Randy’s dedication to collecting and preserving special instruments—especially guitars—inspires his support of MIM. He bought his first guitar, a Vox Super Lynx, when he was 14 years old. Today, he has a carefully curated collection of 20 electric guitars—including that Vox Super Lynx, which he sold in the late 1960s but tracked down and repurchased more than 50 years later.
When it comes to choosing an institution to champion, “finding something you really feel passionate about is the big thing,” Randy says. “The Guitar Gallery is really me.”
In the coming years, Randy also plans to support MIM’s education programs to inspire kids to explore and develop their own love of instruments.
“For me, it really is emotional about my guitar, instrument, and record collections and guitar books,” he says. “That hit home for me here.”
