Praised for their authentic, soulful, and orchestral sound, the String Queens are a dynamic trio with a repertoire spanning the baroque era through the Jazz Age through today’s Billboard Hot 100 chart. The String Queens perform versatile programs that transport audiences across time and genre.

Based in Washington, DC, the members of the String Queens—violinist Kendall Isadore, violist Dawn Johnson, and cellist Élise Sharp—have been featured in famed performance venues on four continents, including Carnegie Hall, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Howard Theatre, Royal Festival Hall, Radio City Music Hall, the Shanghai Grand Theatre, the Moscow Conservatory, and Blues Alley. They have collaborated with artists including Solange, Janelle Monáe, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, and the late Aretha Franklin, among others. As chamber and orchestral musicians, the String Queens have performed under the batons of legendary musical directors Ray Chew, Adam Blackstone, and many more.
