Formed in 2017 during the New York Philharmonic’s 175th anniversary season, the New York Philharmonic String Quartet comprises four principal musicians from one of the country’s greatest orchestras: New York Philharmonic concertmaster and violinist Frank Huang, principal second violin Qianqian Li, principal viola Cynthia Phelps, and principal cello Carter Brey. Each member has amassed countless prizes and awards and performed as soloists and ensemble members worldwide, and each has frequently appeared in the New York Philharmonic’s chamber music series at David Geffen Hall and Merkin Concert Hall.
