Concert Details

In 1973, years after the Beatles had broken up, John Lennon found himself in Los Angeles and spent the next 18 months making music (and mischief) with his friend, the American singer-songwriter Harry Nilsson—a period Lennon referred to as his “lost weekend.”

This show explores Lennon’s and Nilsson’s individual catalogs, the impact they had on each other’s work, and their collaborative efforts during this period, and it shares the stories that inspired these unique songwriters. Lennon and Nilsson features Brian Chartrand, who has performed as part of Live from Laurel Canyon, the Sweet Remains, and James and Joni: Their Stories, Their Songs, as narrator and vocalist; Otto D’Agnolo, who has performed in the John Lennon tribute show Becoming Lennon, as a vocalist and guitarist; Todd Chuba on drums; Lamar Gaines on keys; Adam Armijo on electric guitar; and Mario Mendivil on bass.

“Emotional vocabulary that resonates through his music.”
