MIM Music Theater artistic director Andrew Walesch is thrilled to present his new show celebrating Tony Bennett, which features all-new, custom-commissioned arrangements for Walesch’s 10-piece orchestra.

Since he was a kid, Walesch has loved Tony Bennett, and he has spent countless hours studying Bennett’s phrasing, discography, and musical approach. One fateful afternoon in 2017, Walesch encountered Bennett while walking on 57^th Street in Manhattan. This chance meeting turned into a 45-minute conversation over dinner, with Bennett taking Walesch on a chronological journey through his career, in his own words—birthing this tribute.

Walesch’s vocal and piano chops, along with his knack for finding and interpreting a great lyric, have led to great opportunities. He has appeared on the nationally syndicated NPR show Mountain Stage and was invited to perform at the 33^rd Annual Cabaret Convention at the Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.
