There are few artists capable of appealing to music fans of all stripes, and Alan Doyle is one of them. Doyle is a Canadian musician, actor, and author best known as the lead singer of the Celtic-rock band Great Big Sea. The Newfoundland native launched his solo career in 2012, has written three bestselling books, and has appeared in and produced various films and television series, including Robin Hood and Republic of Doyle.

Expect the unexpected from Welcome Home, Doyle’s fourth full-length solo studio album and 20th overall. Doyle explores slower songs and lower vocal ranges on this latest album, but Welcome Home has party tracks aplenty—notably the rollicking, Celtic, fiddle-and-accordion–goosed title track.
