Concert Details
A 1987 Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble concert inspired blues guitarist and singer Albert Cummings to take up the guitar, and it did not take long for Cummings to find his way to the front of the pack. His first album, 2003’s From the Heart, was produced by Double Trouble’s Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon and featured the group’s Reese Wynans on keyboards.
From there, the blues world opened its doors. Cummings has played with many of the modern blues greats and has received awards and recognition that few others have. He recorded several albums for Blind Pig Records before reaching beyond the boundaries of the blues and incorporating country and rock influences on 2012’s No Regrets. Cummings’s latest album, Strong, is a tour de force of blues, rock, and soul that showcases the guitarist’s exceptional talents.
