Concert Details

Pat Bianchi has toured extensively through the United States and Europe, appearing at numerous jazz festivals, and in recent years his trio has opened for Steely Dan for three separate East Coast tours. In addition to being a prolific band leader, the Grammy-nominated organist was a longtime member of the trio led by late guitar icon Pat Martino as well as NEA Jazz Master Lou Donaldson’s Quartet.

Lewis Nash is universally recognized as one of the great drummers in jazz history, and his illustrious career now spans over four decades. Nash is one of jazz’s most recorded musicians, appearing on over 500 recordings including 10 Grammy winners and numerous Grammy nominees. Nash is in great demand for his educational expertise as well as his drumming skills, and presents clinics, masterclasses and workshops at institutions worldwide.

Clark Gibson is a jazz saxophonist, composer and the director of education at The Nash in Phoenix. His forward-thinking music is strongly rooted in the traditions of jazz musicians of the 20th century, the history of Western classical music, and his own life experiences, as well as musical traditions from cultures across the globe.

A sought-after and versatile jazz trumpeter in New Orleans, Ashlin Parker plays with large and small ensembles nationally and internationally.

Andy Gross is a jazz saxophonist and educator who has earned a BFA in Jazz and Contemporary Music and a master’s in music performance.  Gross performs regularly with the Phoenix Symphony and works with many local jazz and contemporary music groups and ensembles.

Pat Bianchi:
“Bianchi’s deep knowledge of jazz organ history continues to inform his own voice. While he is a proponent of the classic jazz organ trio sound, he’s not confined by it.”

DownBeat

Lewis Nash:
“Lewis Nash is a fabulous percussionist, very dependable, very creative, and an enlightened guy on the instrument.”

McCoy Tyner

Clark Gibson:
“Highly enjoyable and refreshing.”
