Event Details
July is Educator Appreciation Month at MIM! MIM believes that educators are both leaders in their communities and vital museum partners. In that spirit, during the entire month of July, prekindergarten through 12th-grade educators, school and district administrators, principals, registered student teachers, and homeschool educators will receive free general admission upon presentation of a school ID, fingerprint clearance card, affidavit of intent, or proof of active participation in the Arizona Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program. Private music teachers with studios of five or more students under 18 will receive free general admission upon showing a teaching business card, documentation of membership in a music teacher professional society, or a named listing on a studio or music school website, social media page, etc.
In July, educators will also receive a 10% discount on most items at the Museum Store and a 10% discount, excluding alcohol, in Beats Coffee Bar® and Café Allegro. This special discount cannot be combined with any other offers and does not apply to previously purchased items. Teachers will be asked to present verification at time of purchase.
FAQs
Who can come to MIM for free during Educator Appreciation Month?
Current prekindergarten through 12th-grade educators, school and district administrators, principals, registered student teachers, and homeschool educators will receive free general admission upon presentation of a school ID, fingerprint clearance card, affidavit of intent, or proof of active participation in the Arizona Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program. Why doesn’t Educator Appreciation Month include higher-education college professors and substitute or retired teachers?
Educator Appreciation Month and the educational materials associated with it are designed to give current educators, specifically in the prekindergarten through 12th grade levels, a chance to preview MIM and plan their upcoming class visit to the museum.
I am a private music teacher. Can I attend Educator Appreciation Month?
Yes! Private studio teachers with five or more students under 18 are encouraged to attend! While Educator Appreciation Month primarily focuses on classroom educators, we believe that MIM is a wonderful resource for students learning to play musical instruments. Studio teachers may bring groups of students to MIM to explore music from around the world and broaden their musical perspectives. Student recitals and other student performance opportunities may also be available at MIM throughout the year.
Can my child, spouse, or other family members accompany me on my visit to MIM during Educator Appreciation Month?
Our generous sponsors provide museum admission for teachers only. Additional family members and friends may purchase museum admission separately. MIM welcomes guests of all ages! for pricing information.
