MIM Music Theater Announces Fall 2019 Concert Series July 30, 2019 PHOENIX (July 30, 2019) – The MIM Music Theater proudly announces its Fall 2019 Concert Series, with tickets on sale to the public starting on August 8 at 10:00 a.m. The new series, running from September through January, includes thirty concerts spanning multiple genres across the globe. Highlights this season include the Gerald Clayton Quartet, led by Grammy-nominated jazz pianist Gerald Clayton, who creates expressive musical narratives with every note he plays. Ugandan singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kinobe will share soothing African rhythms and world-roots-dance melodies. Grammy-nominated jazz guitarist Mike Stern, jazz fusion keyboardist and composer Jeff Lorber, bass guitarist Jimmy Haslip, and drummer Dave Weckl will join forces for an unforgettable show. Jazz and funk powerhouse saxophonist Candy Dulfer will bring the house to its feet. San Francisco-based Kronos Quartet will reimagine the string quartet experience with songs blending classical and contemporary music. The Fall 2019 Concert Series welcomes some artists who will be performing at the MIM Music Theater for the first time. New artists include one-woman-band Kawehi, who combines vocals, beatboxing, and looping; singer-songwriter Stephen Kellogg and country singer-songwriter Will Hoge; Brazilian singer-songwriter and pianist Guilherme Arantes; and jazz crooner Matt Dusk. Concertgoers can also look forward to the return of several favorites to the MIM Music Theater, including Irish-bluegrass quartet JigJam; Grammy nominee and R&B legend Bettye LaVette; rock singer-songwriter and American Idol winner David Cook; and Preservation Hall Jazz Band, the torchbearers of New Orleans jazz. Celebrate the holiday season with several festive concerts, including Canadian Brass: Christmas Time Is Here, featuring one of the world’s most decorated brass quintets; Irish Christmas in America, a family-friendly performance of Irish ballads, lively instrumental tunes, and thrilling Irish dancing; acoustic jazz guitarist Peter White in A Peter White Christmas; and hit-making songwriter and solo pianist Jim Brickman. The MIM Music Theater presents over 290 concerts per year and has had over 150 Grammy-winning artists perform on its stage. Within the span of only nine years, the theater has been recognized as one of the top music venues of its size, anywhere in the world.
