President, Ron & Linda Jones Family Foundation; Chair and CEO, Help in Healing Home Foundation at the Village at Mayo Clinic
Ron Jones retired in 2004 as chairman of Sealy, Inc., where he also served as president and chief executive officer. After joining Sealy in 1996, Jones led the company to unparalleled growth, reversing its declining market share and eventually achieving annual consolidated sales of over $1.2 billion. He retired at the completion of a highly successful buyout of Sealy stock.
Jones and his wife Linda have established a family foundation that is a principal benefactor of the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, where Ron Jones served on the Mayo Clinic Leadership Council. In addition to supporting international humanitarian efforts, their foundation has granted over fifty scholarships for U.S. students training in the performing arts, the teaching profession, and business. It has also provided support for the Greensboro (North Carolina) Symphony through annual contributions and through a chair endowed in Linda’s name for the Distinguished Performing Guest Artist in Piano.
Ron Jones currently serves as president and CEO of the Help in Healing Home Foundation that manages the Village at Mayo Clinic, which provides a home-away-from-home for patients undergoing extensive cancer treatment or recovery from whole organ, stem cell, or bone marrow transplantation. After the couple’s initial visit to MIM, shortly after its opening in 2010, they joined the Founders group as major donors to the museum. Ron Jones is a member of MIM’s advisory board, and the foundation was an initial donor to the museum’s STEM exhibit.
