Guitarist Walter Trout has toured the world playing his special brand of guitar-based blues rock. He has shared the stage as a sideman for Jesse Ed Davis, Big Mama Thornton, John Lee Hooker, Lowell Fulson, Joe Tex, Canned Heat, and the great John Mayall. When Trout walked away from Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, he embarked on a solo career that has yielded a deep legacy in the worlds of blues and Americana and in the realm of revered singer-songwriters.

On his latest single, “Waiting for the Dawn,” the guitarist urges fans—and himself—to stay strong in light of the challenges of the past few years. It is the latest single from Trout’s newest studio album, Ride; written in his beloved and often-missed home in Huntington Beach, California, the album is filled with pointed reflections informed by Trout’s decades of blues stardom.
