SUMMARY:Asleep at the Wheel
DESCRIPTION:For more than 50 years\, Asleep at the Wheel front man Ray Benson has been traversing the globe as an ambassador of Western swing music\, introducing its irresistible sound to generations. Along the way\, the band has released more than 40 albums\, racked up eight Grammys\, and traveled millions of miles on the road.  \nSince the band’s beginning in 1970\, more than 100 musicians have passed through the Wheel\, but Benson remains the front man and the keeper of the group’s vision. Asleep at the Wheel is an important cornerstone of American roots music\, and some of its members and audience represent a new generation—a testament to the band’s far-reaching appeal and continuing relevance.

SUMMARY:Haley Reinhart
DESCRIPTION:Haley Reinhart has one of those timeless voices that outlasts eras—one that would have felt as at home in the 1960s as it does in the TikTok age. The platinum-selling singer and songwriter is heavily influenced by classic pop and soul acts—including the Beatles\, Janis Joplin\, Ella Fitzgerald\, and Sly and the Family Stone—and she exudes an empowering level of charisma and confidence. \nA sought-after talent\, Reinhart regularly collaborates with Postmodern Jukebox and Doors guitarist Robby Krieger. She also duetted with actor and musician Jeff Goldblum on two tracks on his chart-topping jazz standards collection\, The Capitol Studios Sessions.

SUMMARY:Micky Dolenz
DESCRIPTION:Micky Dolenz has distinguished himself as an actor\, director\, musician\, and radio personality\, but he will always be best known as the drummer and vocalist of 1960s pop-rock heroes the Monkees. Their first four albums hit number one on the charts and launched three number-one singles—including “Last Train to Clarksville” and “I’m a Believer\,” both sung by Dolenz. Over the course of a seven-decade career\, Dolenz has proven himself to be a reliably charming entertainer as well as a skillful vocalist whose tenor brought the Monkees’ biggest hits to life.

SUMMARY:Eric Gales Acoustic Trio
DESCRIPTION:Eric Gales is a rule-breaking\, genre-fusing blues firebrand hailed by Joe Bonamassa\, Dave Navarro\, and Mark Tremonti as one of the finest guitarists on the planet. Since signing his first record deal as a teenager\, the Memphis native has continually reinvigorated the blues through fearless guitar playing\, deeply personal songwriting\, and bold stylistic twists. His acclaimed 2022 album\, Crown\, earned a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Blues Album\, and his music has appeared in director Ryan Coogler’s hit film Sinners.  \nFor this special acoustic trio performance\, Gales brings new intimacy and nuance to his music while retaining the passion and virtuosity that have defined his career. The show will also draw from his newest Grammy-nominated album A Tribute to LJK\, which honors his late brother and musical inspiration\, Little Jimmy King.

SUMMARY:The Fabulous Thunderbirds
DESCRIPTION:For more than 50 years\, the Fabulous Thunderbirds have delivered a powerful hybrid of blues\, rock and roll\, and R&B in hit songs such as “Tuff Enuff” and “Wrap It Up.” Singer and harmonica virtuoso Kim Wilson\, the band’s cofounder and sole remaining original member\, leads the group as it returns to its musical roots\, celebrating Chicago blues. Wilson played alongside the architects of the Chicago blues sound during the genre’s golden era\, learning from legends such as Johnny Shines\, Muddy Waters\, George “Harmonica” Smith\, and Jimmy Reed. The Fabulous Thunderbirds’ Tribute to Chicago Blues tour brings a deep blues catalog and the band’s biggest hits together in a single evening\, featuring traditional Chicago blues cuts Wilson has played for decades and Thunderbirds standards that introduced millions to blues rock.

SUMMARY:Cowboy Junkies
DESCRIPTION:In 1988\, Cowboy Junkies proved that there was an audience waiting for something quiet\, beautiful\, and reflective. The Trinity Session stood out amid the flash and bombast that came to define the late 1980s. The classic album combined folk\, blues\, and rock in a way that had never been heard before\, and it went on to sell more than 1 million copies. \nFormed in Toronto in 1985 with siblings Michael Timmins on guitar\, Margo Timmins on vocals\, Peter Timmins on drums\, and Michael’s lifelong friend Alan Anton on bass\, Cowboy Junkies have sparkled over the course of 29 albums. At this performance\, the band performs a career-spanning show from The Trinity Session to its most recent album\, Such Ferocious Beauty.

SUMMARY:John Pizzarelli
DESCRIPTION:For world-renowned guitarist and vocalist John Pizzarelli\, Tony Bennett was more than an influence. Pizzarelli’s late father\, the revered guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli\, was a frequent sideman for the legendary singer\, and Pizzarelli got his own opportunity to accompany Bennett on a radio broadcast. \nDear Mr. Bennett\, released in March via Green Hill Music\, is on the one hand a loving farewell to a profoundly influential musician. At the same time\, it is a spirited celebration\, arriving just in time for Bennett’s landmark August 3 centennial. A five-song EP will follow on August 7 to coincide with the occasion. Both releases feature songs made famous by Bennett over the course of his remarkable seven-decade career\, rendered with lively warmth\, soulful balladry\, and embracing swing by Pizzarelli and his trio\, which features bassist Mike Karn and pianist Isaiah J. Thompson. \nPizzarelli’s trio has established a brilliant chemistry over the past six years. Dear Mr. Bennett finds them in dazzling form\, equally adept at scintillating jazz\, breathtaking beauty\, and radiant pop.
