This concert coincides with MIM’s Signature Event, “Musical Icons: Tito Puente and Celia Cruz,” to be held at the museum on Saturday and Sunday, April 14 and 15.
The concert features Carmela Ramírez singing classic songs that made Celia Cruz famous, and the band will execute incredible musical arrangements of Tito Puente. Both Puente and Cruz played vital roles in developing the sounds of salsa as we know it today. The band will bring you a little closer to these amazing artists through a narrated history and a powerful performance.
The Daniel Martínez Dance Company and other quest artists will have the entire theater dancing in their seats as they take in the rhythmic Afro-Cuban sounds of Latin jazz and salsa.
