As part of MIM’s 10th Anniversary in 2020, MIM’s Music Theater will present the Global Masters Series, which celebrates the creativity and musicianship of artists at the pinnacle of their craft. Each performance brings a unique perspective to the question of why music matters, helping us understand the deep connections we all have to music.
From their days of playing together as teenagers, through their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for their Jefferson Airplane band, to their current acoustic and electric blues group, Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady, the founders and continuing core members of Hot Tuna, have forged a legendary place in popular American music.
Dick Boak had a legendary career with Martin Guitars. Among the many positions he held, Boak was the company’s archivist, curator of its museum, and creator of the Martin Signature Guitar program, which led him to develop close relationships with a host of iconic artists.
Boak will present an introduction with multimedia and live music prior to the Acoustic Hot Tuna concerts at MIM Music Theater, with colorful stories about the artists he’s known.
