The spacious Founders Room, located off of El Río and adjacent to the Music Theater, provides a place to hold pre- and post-theater gatherings as well as brunch or lunches, cocktail receptions, dinners, and business meetings.

Jill Dahlin Courtyard

100 Reception, 50 Seated

Adjacent to the Founders Room and North El Río, the Jill Dahlin Courtyard can be reserved with other spaces to accommodate larger groups (250–475 Reception, 170 Seated). The north end of El Río is the perfect addition for larger pre-theater and post-theater performance events.

Café Allegro

100 Seated

Café Allegro is a casual dining room surrounded by glass windows overlooking a beautifully landscaped courtyard—the perfect spot to hold your special event. This room can accommodate receptions and dinners.

El Río

300–1,000+ Reception, 120–420 Seated

This extraordinary space forms the main spine of the museum, connecting the Music Theater, Founders Room, Café Allegro, and the exhibit spaces. It is available for cocktail receptions and dinners.

Main Courtyard

This beautiful courtyard features lush desert foliage and water fountains that create a serene and welcoming oasis for guests. The sunset backdrop of the space forms a perfect ambience at dusk and the rotating bronze sculpture, titled “Phoenix,” serves as a distinguished focal point of any event setup.

Available Daily 6–11 p.m.; all outdoor music and entertainment must conclude by 10 p.m.

Music Theater

300 Seated

The spectacular and intimate Music Theater features top-of-the-line acoustic and projection and technical capabilities making every event a wonderful experience for both the audience and performers.

Music Theater: Friends Suite

15 Reception

The Friends Suite is a pleasant and inviting space nestled next to the MIM Music Theater and connected through an internal door to the Green Room. Often used for artist meet-and-greet events, this is a prime location to host VIP guests. Additional features include a flat-screen monitor that displays cable television and a live feed to the stage and skylights that create a bright and natural environment.

Manuel Villalobos Terrace

40 Reception

This outdoor setting is perfect for small receptions and intimate gatherings. The space offers a beautiful sunset view overlooking the mountains of southeast Phoenix. The patio is a lovely outdoor extension of the upper-level Geographic Galleries and is the perfect complement to a tour element of your event.
