Explore musical examples of the transmission and exchange of culture, ideas, and influence as people interact throughout the world. Take a close look at examples of music from diverse modern cultures and discover the music of ancient cultures. Engage students in grades 3–12 through games, projects, and writing and discussion prompts that will empower them to use information from a variety of sources found in the museum’s collections.
Participants receive a certificate for tracking professional development hours and a resource packet. On the day of the session, teachers can tour the museum and continue developing lesson plan ideas. This session augments MIM’s Discovery and self-guided Trailblazer field trips.
