Though he was born and raised in Artemisa, Cuba, singer-songwriter Alex Cuba’s artistry is as far-flung as the place he has lived for more than 15 years: Smithers, British Columbia, Canada. His music incorporates his Cuban roots into a unique amalgam of styles, bringing together sweet melodies, pop-soul hooks, subtle jazz influences, and powerful guitar riffs in songs that occupy a unique musical place in the Latin diaspora.
Blind jazz guitarist and singer-songwriter Raul Midón, dubbed “an eclectic adventurist” by People, has released 11 solo albums. He has also collaborated with such heroes as Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, and Bill Withers, played on records by Queen Latifah and Snoop Dogg, and contributed to the soundtrack to Spike Lee’s She Hate Me. A New Mexico native who now lives in Maryland after years in New York, Midón has earned acclaim the world over with his magnetic performances.
